MindLab 2.0 Features

By the end of April we concluded a significant work including a re-write of essential parts of the server, as well as extending and improving the database architecture. We are now proud to present MindLab 2.0, robust and flexible in all ends. Among the features now available are:

  • Single-user simulation model applicable for any geographically oriented scenario aimed at training resource allocation and priority skills
  • Multi-user simulation model applicable for any geographically oriented scenario aimed at training the communication and development of a common understanding of a complex system, as well as collaborative skills
  • Web-based graphical user interfaces providing a rich and easily available user experience
  • Questionnaire functionality allowing the game administrator to construct questionnaires that are presented to the user at pre-defined times during the game
  • Logging of user actions for subsequent data analysis
  • Server technology and starting kits that allows for rapid development of new simulation models and new graphical user interfaces

The main implication of the recent improvements is that development and/or tailoring of the games can be done with great ease, such that accomodating other problem domains or training foci will require less effort on the development side.
